The Zipitty, which was developed in co-operation with Disney, consists of a foldaway mat and a large joystick-like protrusion. Kids between the ages of 3 and 5 can use the mat for running, dancing and jumping their way through games. The joystick is used for any kind of activities that require the child to lean backwards, forwards, left or right.
Games, which will feature well loved Disney characters such as Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh, will also aim to educate as well as exercise. It comes with eight different built in games that will help to teach kids about Mathematics, problem solving skills and phonics.
The Zippity plugs straight into a television and works independently of any games console. With childhood obesity on the up, the Zippity will no doubt be snapped up by health conscious parents who are eager make sure their kids get enough exercise.
When it’s released later this year the Zippity is expected to retail for around £55 additional games costing around £17.
